Tattoo removal
Tattoo removal methods have existed just as long as the process itself, however the scarring and pain associated with these procedures is often more offensive than the tattoo itself. Salabrasion and dermabrasion (literally the “sanding” of the area) causes trauma, bleeding and significant scarring. Invasive incisions – the actual cutting out of tattoos leaves scars and is only suitable for small areas – larger areas have to be treated with skin grafts which leaves scars at the site of the tattoo ad the graft.
The Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser offers significant advantage over previous methods for tattoo removal. It delivers light quickly – in billionths of a second – and at very high energy. These pulses are absorbed by the tattoo, breaking it into pigment particles small enough for removal by the body. You will notice a change after your first treatment, with the effect being greater at subsequent sessions.
